As for Friday Night, if you RSVP, you can expect an Open Bar from 10PM until 11PM:

Be there next Friday for the kick-off of Game Over with DJ Brendan Bring'em & DJ Si Young from Plastic Little. We'll be playing old school Nintendo video games on the giant projection screen upstairs & trust me, this place is going to be wild.

Venue Preview: The Penthouse Lounge & Grille (Philadelphia)

This Saturday (The 31st), Philly's newest fine dining restaurant and lounge will throw open it's doors. The list is nearly full, but until the end of the day, you can sign up for the RSVP list.

At the Grand Opening Party there will be Penthouse Pets working the room, who should look extra special, since there will be complimentary Belvedere and Heineken from 9PM to 11PM.

According to City Paper, we can expect good things at The Penthouse Lounge & Grille:

Philadelphians who remember dancey-dancey Emerald City will be pleased to see something new in its place: Joe Dougherty's Penthouse Lounge and Grille, a brand-new concept from Penthouse Media Group. (We hear they publish some high-brow literary journal of same name.) This flagship prototype, however, is not a nudie bar — think upscale dining and drinkin' bent on a bit of VIP flair. Chef Michael Cheek, late of NOLA, will offer entrees like poached Copper River salmon with infused ginger, lemongrass and shitake risotto.

Check JoonBug for venue details.

Cuba Libre took great pains to create a rich, inviting slice of Havana charm, and it delivers with incredible recreations of 1940s Cuban architecture, loads of palm trees, big ceiling fans, and other elements.  The attention to detail is astonishing, and it is meant to compliment Cuba Libre’s superlative menu and extensive rum list.  Some Dishes are served up in hearty portions meant for sharing.  With some great salsa tunes playing, it’s not hard to be swept up in all the fun.

Venue Review: North - Philadelphia

North
222 South St
Philadelphia, PA 19147
(215) 238-0299

North is a wonderful mix of ultra lounge and an old favorite hangout spot.  The décor is warm, rich, and inviting with slate floors and playful constellations of lights.  The bar ranges from happy hour beers and cocktails to bottle service in the lounge area.  The menu offers up some tasty appetizers like shrimp cocktails, and vegetarian panini.  The DJs keep things nice and relaxed with old school hip hop, funk, r&b, and classic rock tunes.

Venue Review: Chrome - Philadelphia

Chrome
939 Delaware Ave
Philadelphia, PA 19123
(215) 931-0101

With a name like Chrome, you have to expect metallic décor running throughout the joint.  Year round, it has a lot to offer with a pool and outdoor deck in the warmer months.  That, and a swanky indoors lounge offer respite when the dance floor gets too crowded.  There’s a wide variety of theme nights at Chrome, and you’d be best off to call ahead.  Even though Chrome’s presentation is pretty impressive, it’s fairly down to earth.

Venue Review: Fiso Lounge - Philadelphia

Fiso Lounge
1437 South St
Philadelphia, PA 19146
(215) 735-2220

Fiso may be a huge club, but it has a very intimate vibe for the well dressed crowds.  The first floor is more chillout and relaxed with plush, well-appointed rooms and a stout appetizer menu.  The dance floor takes up the better part of the second floor, but two bars round things out and the third floor offers up a stunning view from the outdoor deck.  A strong list of local and international DJs keeps the energy pretty high til the wee hours.

Here’s what Citysearch and Digital City had to say about Fiso.

Venue Review: Tritone - Philadelphia

Tritone
1508 South St
Philadelphia, PA 19146
(215) 545-0475
website

Diverse doesn’t even begin to describe Tritone. The atmosphere may be intimate and loungey, but DJs and live acts play a wide gamut of music from blues to rock & roll to musical standards. Thanks to a
friendly, capable staff and cheap stiff drinks, Tritone always fills up fast, but thankfully the attitude is minimal.

Here's what Citysearch and Digital City thought about Tritone.

Venue Review: 32 Degrees - Philadelphia

32 Degrees
16 S 2nd St 2nd Fl (btwn Market & Chestnut Sts)
Philadelphia, PA 19106
(215) 627-3132
website

Smack dab in the heart of Philly’s Old City, 32 Degrees is done up in blues and comfortably dim lighting, two bars, loads of space for schmoozing, and private booths for bottle service. The raw bar is tasty but not entirely filling. They have an interesting gimmick here by serving up shots in glasses made out of ice.

Here's what Citysearch and Digital City had to say about 32 Degrees.

Venue Review: Bleu Martini - Philadelphia

Bleu Martini
24 S 2nd St (at Market St)
Philadelphia, PA 19106-2802
(215) 940-7900

While the menu at this Old City hot spot is fairly inventive there’s something comforting in a traditional martini or bourbon on the rocks. The calming effect of the blue lighting is nicely contrasted with the energy from the funk and disco pumping through the sound system.

Here's what Citysearch and Digital City had to say about Bleu Martini.

Venue Review: Transit - Philadelphia

Transit
600 Spring Garden Street
Philadelphia, PA 19123
website

Transit’s strengths lie in top flight DJs and live bands with the endurance of afterhours. As an uberclub, there are of course loads of space, three dance floors, and a substantial number of bars, and the specialty nights change regularly, so check ahead. Regardless, Transit is always packed to the rafters, and even if you’re not shelling out for bottle service, the drink prices are still pretty steep.

Here's what Digital City and Citysearch had to say about Transit.

Venue Review: Tragos Lounge - Philadelphia

Tragos Lounge
40 S 19th St
Philadelphia, PA 19103
(215) 636-9901
website

Tragos recently underwent a substantial transformation into a Spanish-themed lounge with everything from a lunch menu (for the office lunch set) to a special tapas menu for late night munchies. There’s even 40 different kinds of tequila (that’s right – 40 different kinds of tequila). There’s the requisite VIP lounge for those with deep pockets, a hefty dance floor, and a stage for live bands as an alternative to the latest DJ-spun dance hits.

Here's what Digital City had to say about Tragos Lounge.

Venue Review: Shampoo - Philadelphia

Shampoo
417 N 8th St (at Willow St)
Philadelphia, PA 19123
(215) 922-7500
website

This uber-club in Northern Liberties takes great pains to accommodate a wide variety of Philly nightlife. No matter what theme it is that night, the main dance floor is always packed. There’s a room for straight up disco, and a cushy VIP lounge for the bottle service set. During the Summer, the outdoor area is opened up with it’s own DJ, and as a nice touch – a Jacuzzi.

Venue Review: Lounge 125 - Philadelphia

Lounge 125
125 S Second St (btwn Chestnut & Walnut Sts)
Philadelphia, PA 19106
(215) 351-9026
website

Lounge 125 doesn’t take itself too seriously as a slick Old City lounge, and quite possibly that’s why the young hip crowds keep coming back. It has an intimate vibe, but it also seems rather open and inviting. A great relaxing atmosphere and a solid mix of the latest in Techno, House, and Hip-Hop keep the energy levels high.

Here's what Citysearch and Digital City thought of Lounge 125.

Venue Review: Fluid - Philadelphia

Fluid
613 S 4th St (at Bainbridge St)
Philadelphia, PA 19147
(215) 629-0565

This small, intimate second flood lounge doesn’t quite advertise, but it draws in a young, hip crowd. There’s a small balcony lounge overlooking the dance floor, and with the volume of people in this wee joint, most people come for the local DJs that play a wide range of music from Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, R&B, House, and even Rock & Roll depending upon the night. People watching takes a backseat to dancing at Fluid.

Venue Review: Five Spot - Philadelphia

Five Spot
1 S Bank St
Philadelphia, PA 19106-2803
(215) 574-0070

While Five Spot stays true to its roots as a Swing music & dance club, on some nights, live bands, and DJs bring a completely different vibe to the joint. There are some pretty offbeat touches to take the edge off like a chill out lounge. Instead of ambient music, there are sweets and board games from your childhood. It may seem kinda weird, but it takes a lot of the pressure off mingling when you’re acting like a kid.

Here's what Digital City and Citysearch had to say about Five Spot.
