Venue Review: The Bone - Club / Bar - Dallas

The Bone
2724 Elm St
Dallas, TX  75226
214- 744-2663
www.thebone.com

The Bone is located in the neighborhood of Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas.

It’s a huge newly renovated club with plasma TVs, full-size pool tables in the Game Room, dance floors upstairs and downstairs, but the Bone’s main draw is the view of downtown Dallas from their 2,500 sq.ft. roof-top patio.

In between the Game Room, plasma TVs, and the roof-top is the entertainment, which ranges with variety from live bands to DJ parties. Check local listings (and ours) to see what’s happening at The Bone.

They say you can book your party on their roof-top patio for- everyone loves this word- free. On that basis alone, it’s definitely worth checking out.

With more than a little smirk, Double Wide serves as a trashy counterpoint to its more glamorous Deep Ellum neighbors.  Double Wide is not so much as decorated with but littered with old car & RV parts.  An outhouse greets you by the front door, and the interiors have loads of cheesy touches like wood paneling and macramé.  Because of its trashy charm, Double Wide has become one of Deep Ellum’s best spots to catch live, homegrown acts.

Three Forks
17776 Dallas Pkwy (at Trinity Mills Rd)
Dallas, TX 75287
(972) 267 1776

A blend of Texan and French style may seem odd, but for the better part, Three Forks makes it work.  The different rooms (named after Texas heroes) are designed with a sense of regal French style with chandeliers and plush, well-appointed interiors.  While you may think you’re in a Parisian Dining Room, every so often you’ll see a touch of whimsy like an antler chandelier or an Indian outfit in a glass case to remind you that you’re still in Dallas.  Three Forks excels at hearty American fare (their steaks are particularly noteworthy) with French and Caribbean influences.

Medici counters the prevalent aesthetic in most lounges.  Instead of steel, plastics, and pastel shades, Medici presents its patrons with an old-world charm of dark, rich earth tones, wood, and marble. Keep in mind that this is a semi-private venue.  To get in, you have to either navigate past the velvet rope, or been invited by the management (having just eaten at Nick & Sam’s, their next door high-end steakhouse).  Once inside, the lounge offers custom leather couches, a rotating list of top flight DJs, and a respectable cocktail menu.
