Venue Review: The Bone - Club / Bar - Dallas

The Bone
2724 Elm St
Dallas, TX  75226
214- 744-2663
www.thebone.com

The Bone is located in the neighborhood of Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas.

It’s a huge newly renovated club with plasma TVs, full-size pool tables in the Game Room, dance floors upstairs and downstairs, but the Bone’s main draw is the view of downtown Dallas from their 2,500 sq.ft. roof-top patio.

In between the Game Room, plasma TVs, and the roof-top is the entertainment, which ranges with variety from live bands to DJ parties. Check local listings (and ours) to see what’s happening at The Bone.

They say you can book your party on their roof-top patio for- everyone loves this word- free. On that basis alone, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Venue Review: Puppet Lounge - Dallas

Puppet Lounge
2708 Elm St (@ Good Latimer Expy)
Dallas, TX 75226
(214) 651 0500

Deep Ellum is home to restauranteur Peter Tarantino’s latest creation, Puppet Lounge.  Low lighting plays against murals of old gambling halls.  Decidedly urbane, Puppet Lounge has plenty of rich, cushy seating in the main room, and an outdoor patio with lounge seating.  Puppet Lounge serves up a light menu of Italian fare.  Mellow Jazzy beats fill the air as crowds enjoy primo cocktails.

This Lower Greenville hotspot plays host to a variety of top flight local acts and DJs.  Suede has a very relaxed, high-energy party vibe with flowing, suede (‘natch) curtains and cushy suede seating, a pressed tin ceiling, low slung tables, a long, copper-topped bar, and exposed brick walls.  With strong DJ-fueled beats and even stronger drinks, it’s easy to see how Suede fills up with crowds of young, easy-going Dallas nightlife.

Venue Review: Double Wide Bar - Lounge - Dallas

Double Wide Bar
3510 Commerce St (@ Exposition Ave)
Dallas, TX 75226
(214) 887 6510

With more than a little smirk, Double Wide serves as a trashy counterpoint to its more glamorous Deep Ellum neighbors.  Double Wide is not so much as decorated with but littered with old car & RV parts.  An outhouse greets you by the front door, and the interiors have loads of cheesy touches like wood paneling and macramé.  Because of its trashy charm, Double Wide has become one of Deep Ellum’s best spots to catch live, homegrown acts.

website

The Green Room caters to eclectic Deep Ellum nightlife with a casual, yet stylish flair.  Decorated with rock memorabilia from local bands, Green Room has steady traffic thanks to neighboring live music hotspots Trees & Gypsy Tea Room.  When the energy gets too thick in the main dining room, the rooftop deck offers fresh air and a great view of the Dallas skyline.  Green Room serves up inventive & memorable dishes like grilled coriander-cured Portobello mushroom with Cayenne whipped sweet potatoes and the Ancho mole chicken with Chihuahua soft polenta.  As eclectic as their menu is, their wine list is rather well matched.
