Carmen Electra and The Killers at Paramount Pictures Lot New Year's Eve 2007 Party - Los Angeles (LA)

The Paramount Pictures Lot
5555 Melrose Avenue
Hollywood, CA

The entire New York Street back lot facility of Paramount transforms into the six-block New Year’s Eve festival dubbed, 'Times Square West'.

This party is huge! It’s got 12 different DJs spinning on four different stage areas, Carmen Electra will be there hopefully in scantily-clad festive wear and The Killers do a live set at midnight.

It’ll be a lot warmer in LA that night so you can actually walk around and dance through New York City streets, albeit replicas with an LA touch of unusual street and stunt performances whizzing back and forth.

Check out the details here to ring in 2007 at this grown up’s wonderland.

Halloween Parties in the Style of Los Angeles

Skeleton-thin models strutting in high heels, cruising down Sunset Strip with eye liner and corpse paint, trick or treating for “candy” and “favors,” everyday is essentially Halloween in LA.

An auspicious day for LA’s hedonistic night revelers, one can expect numerous soirees around town with each one more lecherous than the next. For one there’s the Dollhouse Heaven and Hell Party at The Music Box hosted by Edward Furlong along with a team of DJs, Sleepy Brown performing live, and the Crobar gang on tour. Late nights and grinding libidos await this party.

If you’re looking for more of a freak show, the Hollywood Palladium plays host to a Halloween Masquerade & Costume Ball. With a 3,500 person capacity, this party brings more of a midnight carnival rather than a club party with clowns on ten foot stilts, dancing witches, a food court, and my favorite, 30 cash bars.

Either way, pretensions will be hidden in our costumes and every Halloween celebration will be equally enjoyed by all, no matter if you’re a ghost, ghoul or saint.

Event Preview: Night Vision: MOCA After Dark - A celebration of the arts - Los Angeles (LA)

Museum of Contemporary Art
250 Grand Ave.
Los Angeles, 90012
(213) 626-6222
www.moca.org

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in LA puzzles together the city’s art-informed party people into one mega soiree every Saturday night until September 2, 2006. With live bands, DJ sets, art openings and “Robert Rauschenberg: Combines,” these all encompassing gatherings, dubbed “Night Vision: MOCA After Dark,” lures art-school dropouts, DJ dons, indie rockers, and loadies- in other words a motley, art-appreciating crew who know how to let the good times roll.

MOCA showcases for the first time works by Robert Rauschenberg, a pioneer in the Pop Art movement along with contemporaries like Andy Warhol and John Cage. Reminiscent of Max's Kansas City in NYC during the Warhol years, MOCA's art space turns into a club with DJ regulars from KCRW and The Echo, and music performances from indie acts like Gram Rabbit (6/3), Future Pigeon (6/24), Steve Aoki (7/8), The Like (7/22) and The Crystal Method (8/26).

Spoken word performances, film screenings and workshops are all happening simultaneously so check out the schedule for a detailed list of events.
