Venue Review: Eyebar - Lounge - Washington, DC

Eyebar

Just at the corner of Farragut Square, Eyebar easily shines as a strong see and be seen lounge.  With sleek, modern décor, cushy furniture, and an intimate VIP Bottle Service section in the rear, Eyebar serves up tasty upbeat and trancey house tracks.  Even though Eyebar is decidedly upscale with a strict dresscode and a guestlist only policy, they do not charge a cover, and they round things out with lots of drink specials and fondue during happy hours.

Here’s what The Washington Post and Digital City had to say about Eyebar

I wanted to comment on my recent experience at EyeBar. We purchased pre-paid tickets for nye and got there early for the free open bar. The bar tenders were all scantly clad women who were exceptionally nice to men but ignored all the women. We waited 1.5 hours and never got a free drink. (Note if you are women, don't bother going for the open bar). At 10:30, after we had waited and were still at the bar, the bartender was told by security that the free bar was over. She was so exhilarated she was saying "YES" and "FINALLY". How this applied to us, I am not aware. We were finally served and after paying 8.00 per drink that we should have gotten free because she refused to serve women...This was not a problem, we got four rounds of drinks. The problem came when I closed out my tab and told my friend that I was tipped 0.01 for the poor service that we had received. She then withheld my credit card and Drivers license and said that I should not "talk to her that way." I said "excuse me? I can tip whatever I want and I would appreciate my license and credit card back." She took my receipt and showed it to the other bartender, who laughed that I gave her 1 cent, because apparently they don't realize that this means bad service. I eventually got my license and credit card back and talked to the manager about the bad service we received and the RIGHT of everyone to leave whatever tip they want: Whether this is nothing, 10 dollars or 1 dollar. He apoligzed for this rude service and told me that some people do not deserve to be in the service industry. I told him that I would never recommend to any of my friends to go there and he told me that was fair enough. I hope that if you read this, you will realize that customer service is a problem here and that you deserve better service than what I received. No person should feel like they HAVE TO leave a tip or for defending what they left and deserving to be treated equally, whether you are woman, man, White, Black, Indian or Asian. Thank you for hearing me out. I hope you will find a better bar to spend your money at.

Great time on a Saturday night

Small place but ladies night is definitely worth it. You will probably want a table at some point..they go very fast...

This place is just another pretentious hole that people clamor to get into, hoping that some of that purchased coolness that fills it like a fart in a car will rub off on them - making them feel better about their shallow and meaningless lives. Please let me be cool too. I'll grease my hair, spend an inordinate amount of money on clothes, and develop a gut so my black skin tight t-shirt will look better on me. I'm so sexy!

you HAVE to check it out! went there last weekend for a girls night out & it was HOT! The 2nd floor is absoultely FABULOUS!
