Sandbar is a hefty combination of a restaurant/bar and a nightclub.  With two dance floors, a separate dining area, lounges and outdoor bars, Sandbar offers up a wide selection of music on different nights and with a full calendar, you’d be best off to call ahead to get the schedule and info on cover charges, drink specials, etc.  One of the biggest draws Sandbar offers has to be the prime nighttime view of the Manhattan skyline.  Refreshing when the energy from the dancefloor gets to be too much.

Went to Sanbar last Saturday because I had heard about it from a few friends in NJ. I live in Brooklyn. Arrived at 1am and had to choose wether walking 1 mile in gravel in my 4 inch heels (for free Parking) or pay $20 dollars for VIP parking. Then paid $20 at the door had an $8 drink served in a mini plastic cup. Finally started to catch a groove and suddenly at 2:15am the lights were turned on and music shut off doors from one room to another were locked and then the rude security staff literally kicked everyone one out while hurling insults at us.Whe I asked one of them why they were clsoing so early they simply told us management decided to shut down early because there were not enough people in the club. Mind you they were kicking out atleast 2,500 people. So there we were after spending almost $150.00 in a matter of an hour being kicked out at 2:15??? RIDICULOUS !!! If this were to have happened in NY there would have been a riot. MY advice cross the Holland tunnel and go to a real party in the city not this overpriced unfriendly rip off of a club.

sandbar is dopeee.... and it will be even hotter if they keep getting N'KLABE to sing there cause they are a hot salsa band and talented as all hell... i can watch them guys perform all the time...so keep them around...

I went to sandbar because it's been mentioned on the radio a lot lately. Yes, it's popular, very crowded and the setting is nice. However, on their website and when you call the telephone number to get admission fee, it's not the same price you pay when you arrive. False advertisement!!That's what I call it. It wasn't even 10:00 when my friends arrived, and of course, once you pass security, you're not going to turn back. They charged up $20. I think that's ridiculous!

Me and a couple friends were in NYC for the weekend, and happened to check this place out on Saturday,6/11/05. This place had to be the best club we had been to. They had all the rooms playing different kinds of music. They had a couple live performances, which were hot! N'Klabe closed the show with conviction. The girls there are gorgeous, and it's not a sausage fest either. It's an even ratio, so check it out when you get a chance.
