New Venue Opening: SoHo:323
We here at JoonBug are intent on keeping our visitors “in the know” when it comes to Manhattan’s eccentric nightlife scene. So, from time to time, when new venues open their doors, we’ll let you know about it here, in the JoonBlog. This Friday night (May 21st), New York’s newest nightclub, SoHo:323, makes its debut with an invite-only grand opening event. This club might be New York’s latest, but trust us – this place is destined to become one of the city’s hottest hot spots, too.
Inspired by the uniqueness and charm of downtown Manhattan, this multi-themed, double-decker lounge – located at 323 West Broadway – promises to “flawlessly integrate an elegant, yet contemporary, décor,” according to the club’s publicists, in a celebrated SoHo location (the former home of French bistro Chez Bernard.)
Party-goers got their first glimpse of SoHo:323 earlier this month, as it played host to a series of post-premiere parties during the TriBeCa Film Festival. SoHo:323 features a loft-like interior that incorporates original artwork and handcrafted décor; Co-owners Marc Carnevali (203 Spring Street, Fashion Forty) and Bugsy Lyudmir, a name synonymous with Manhattan nightlife, revamped the entire space, and the club’s two distinct floors were designed with their own individual concepts and atmospheres in mind.
The first-floor lounge juxtaposes softer elements with bolder statements, and Feng Shui theories dictated the arrangement of the furnishings to allow for positive energy throughout the entire space. Meanwhile, the upstairs bar boasts a darker feel, with raw materials, uncovered wooden ceiling beams, exposed brick reminiscent of pre-War New York, stripped curved walls, and untouched concrete floors.
SoHo:323 promises an entirely new nightlife experience, focusing on the next era in music, art, fashion design, and culture. According to the club’s publicists, SoHo:323 will “set the standard for downtown chic, and inspire New York to celebrate its nightlife in new and exciting ways.” For more information, call SoHo:323 at (212) 334-2232.
